Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Matthew Mahnke, the founder of MGM. I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was 16, and with MGM, I get to combine that drive with my love of manufacturing. While in college, I worked on automation projects, which led to the opportunity to develop a fully automated packaging system for ammunition.
During the summer of my junior year, I needed a supplier to cut the frames for my machines on a tube laser. What I thought would be a simple task turned into weeks of delays and frustration. Surprised by how difficult it was to source these parts, I thought to myself, “There must be a better way.”
When I finished the packaging system, I was determined to solve this problem. I spent my senior year teaching myself to code and writing the software that now powers MGM. My goal is to bring this part of the manufacturing industry into the modern era—making it as simple as ordering a pizza and accessible to everyone. I hope you enjoy what we’ve created.
History and Background
MGM was founded out of frustration with the challenges of finding reliable laser tube cutting services. While building machine frames, the founder Matthew Mahnke experienced firsthand how outdated and inefficient the industry was. Outsourcing the tube fabrication required constant follow-ups just to get the job done. Determined to create a better solution, Matthew developed the software that powers MGM during his senior year of college. With a clear vision and a drive to modernize tube fabrication, he launched MGM to bring simplicity, transparency, and efficiency to the industry.
